La Embajada y Consulados de los Estados Unidos en México celebraron la Semana Internacional de Educación del 12 al 15 de noviembre con una gama de actividades educativas. EducationUSA, una red mundial con presencia en México de centros de asesoría educativa financiada por el Departamento de Estado, organizó ferias virtuales y presentaciones de ex alumnos en la Biblioteca Benjamín Franklin a los potenciales estudiantes.
En Monterrey, el Consulado realizó el Panel: La Importancia de la Educación Internacional el miércoles 13 de noviembre. Posterior al panel, se presentó información de diversas instituciones dedicadas a la orientación y promoción de estudios en el extranjero, como EducationUSA, Comexus-Fulbright y Conacyt. La Semana Internacional de Educación es una iniciativa conjunta de los Departamentos de Estado y Educación de los Estados Unidos que busca promover programas que preparen a los estadounidenses para un ambiente global, así como atraer a líderes futuros del extranjero a estudiar, aprender e intercambiar experiencias en los Estados Unidos. En ningún otro lugar es más cierto esto que en México, donde ambos presidentes han colocado los intercambios de educación superior y la investigación e innovación conjunta al frente de nuestra agenda bilateral.
México y los Estados Unidos comparten una de las fronteras más amplias del mundo y una de las más transitadas por bienes y personas. Nuestra búsqueda por una economía de América del Norte integrada, y una relación bilateral mutuamente respetuosa, depende de jóvenes educados e involucrados, jóvenes que estén profundamente familiarizados con la cultura y economía del vecino.
“Compartimos con México un compromiso por una educación de calidad accesible para todos, y los Estados Unidos continuarán trabajando con México en la preparación de la próxima generación para los retos del siglo XXI con el fin de incrementar la competitividad de Norteamérica y asegurar la prosperidad económica”, dijo el Embajador Anthony Wayne. “Las actividades de la Semana Internacional de Educación ayudan a traer la posibilidad de estudiar en los Estados Unidos más cerca para los estudiantes mexicanos”.
Los Estados Unidos están enfocados en dar la bienvenida a más mexicanos para estudiar en los Estados Unidos, y estamos trabajando con el gobierno de México, con el sector privado, y con la academia en ambos lados de la frontera para cumplir con esta meta. Las universidades estadounidenses están catalogadas como las mejores del mundo y los expertos internacionales concuerdan en que 19 de las 25 mejores universidades en el mundo se encuentran en los Estados Unidos. Parte de lo que las hace así es la naturaleza internacional del cuerpo estudiantil, y queremos que más mexicanos estudien junto a las mentes internacionales más brillantes.
Estudiar en los Estados Unidos es absolutamente posible, con el nivel de inglés adecuado y la motivación para solicitar las becas y programas de financiamiento que existen. Las visas son el último paso en el proceso, y son un área en la que estamos trabajando para garantizar que todos los estudiantes calificados entren a los Estados Unidos para enriquecer sus experiencias educativas.
Cada año, asesores de EducationUSA ofrecen a miles de estudiantes mexicanos información precisa, integral y vigente sobre cómo solicitar admisión a universidades estadounidenses. Los asesores de EducationUSA trabajan en la Biblioteca Benjamín Franklin y en otros 15 centros de asesoría en el país para apoyar a los estudiantes mexicanos a acceder a las oportunidades de educación superior en los Estados Unidos, incluyendo información sobre visas y apoyo financiero. Studying in America Yes We Can
The Embassy and U.S. Consulates in Mexico celebrated International Education Week 12 to 15 November with a range of educational activities. EducationUSA , a global network with presence in Mexico of educational advising centers funded by the Department of State, virtual exhibitions and presentations organized alumni in the Benjamin Franklin Library prospective students.
In Monterrey, the Consulate did the Panel: The Importance of International Education on Wednesday, November 13. Subsequent to the panel, presented information from various institutions involved in guiding and promoting study abroad, as EducationUSA Comexus-Fulbright and CONACYT . The International Education Week is a joint initiative of the Departments of State and Education in the United States that seeks to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in U.S.. Nowhere is this more true than in Mexico, where both presidents have placed higher education exchanges and joint research and innovation at the forefront of our bilateral agenda.
Mexico and the United States share a wider borders in the world and one of the busiest for goods and people. Our quest for a North American economy integrated and mutually respectful bilateral relationship depends on educated and involved youth, youth who are deeply familiar with the culture and economy of the neighbor.

The United States is focused on welcoming more Mexicans to study in the United States, and we are working with the government of Mexico, with the private sector, and academia on both sides of the border to meet this goal. American universities are listed as the world’s best international experts agree that 19 of the 25 best universities in the world are in the United States. Part of what makes them so is the international nature of the student body, and we want more Mexicans studying alongside international brightest minds.
Studying in the United States is quite possible, with adequate English skills and motivation to apply for grants and funding programs that exist. Visas are the last step in the process, and are an area in which we are working to ensure that all qualified students to enter the United States to enrich their educational experiences.
Each year, EducationUSA advisers offer thousands of Mexican students accurate, comprehensive and current information about how to apply to American universities. EducationUSA advisers work in the Benjamin Franklin Library and other 15 counseling centers in the country to support the Mexican students to access higher education opportunities in the United States, including information on visas and financial support. Their advice is free and open to the Mexican public.
