Monterrey, Nuevo Leon,.- Timothy Zuniga-Brown, a career diplomat of the State Department of the United States, arrived in Monterrey for the position of US Consul General in the city, replacing Joseph M. Pomper.
During its first activities, Mr. Zúñiga-Brown met with the Governor of the State of Nuevo León, Rodrigo Medina, with whom he had a pleasant meeting.
Originally from Nevada and more than 28 years of experience in the Foreign Service, Timothy Zuniga-Brown will oversee the operations of the Monterrey representation over the next three years. Monterrey Consulate provides services to US and Mexican citizens living in five states of the Mexican Republic: Durango, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas and Coahuila most of.
Previously, the now Consul General Zuniga-Brown, was the coordinator of the working group of unaccompanied children at the Directorate of Western Hemisphere Affairs, Department of State of United States. Among the positions he has held in the US foreign service missions in Ecuador stand, Bahamas, Iraq, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa, Cuba and Panama. Mr. Zúñiga-Brown is a graduate of American University and the National War College.
Upon arrival in the city, Mr. Zúñiga-Brown shared, «I am honored to have the opportunity to be part of this incredible team in the US Consulate in Monterrey and I appreciate the strong ties we have with the community they serve to frame the wide range of bilateral issues between our two countries.
