consulado asistentes

Throughout the year, in the consulate we perform various activities to reach the public with truthful and accurate information on visa processing, fraud alert and report any changes or updates in processing visas. Given the large volume of visas of various types transacted in our nine consulates and the embassy in Mexico, many of our applicants can be a victim of certain crimes.

That is why the Dec. 8, 2016, officials from the Consulate General of the United States in Ciudad Juarez offered a talk in Zacatecas on the process to obtain a residence visa. By the nature of the resident visa, the consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua is the only site that handles this type of visa, so that interested parties have to move to this city for processing. Consulate Ciudad Juarez receives requests from all over Mexico. During fiscal 2015, the Consulate in Ciudad Juarez approved 82.323 immigrant visas, which includes a significant number belonging to the state of Zacatecas.

Emigrating to the United States is an important and complex decision. In this session, consular officials spoke on the required forms and steps in the process of visa residence for both those who currently have a pending proceeding, as for those planning to start a process to immigrate to the United States. They also talked about the official resources for information, tips for the day of the interview and how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.

Mexican citizens wishing to emigrate or permanently reside in the United States, must be requested by an American family or legal resident in the United States and follow a series of steps to apply for a residence visa. Once admitted, they can live and work permanently in the United States.
