Mexico City .-The US Ambassador in Mexico, Roberta S. Jacobson, today presented at the offices of the Mexican Red Cross donated $ 100,000 for the institution specially used to support groups vulnerable affected by the earthquake of September 19.
The funds are in addition to the impressive generosity and solidarity of the Mexican people, whose donations to the Mexican Red Cross have already covered the immediate needs of the affected population in terms of food, water, blankets, clothing, mattresses and hygiene kits.

«We decided to use the donation from the government of the United States to respond to the needs of particularly vulnerable persons, such as disabled people who lost wheelchairs or walkers in the earthquake; people with emotional or mental disabilities who require specific assistance; or older adults with special circumstances. In addition, the Red Cross intends to use our donation to support the rehabilitation and recovery of physically or psychologically affected by the earthquake «.
